MCTS BizTalk Server 2006

January 29th, 2007 by Sander Schutten

Today I passed the 70-235 exam, required for earning the MCTS BizTalk Server 2006 certification. About 20% of the questions was related to the Business Rule Engine (BRE) and another 15% to Business Activity Monitoring (BAM). The other questions were all general BizTalk questions, including some questions on Role Links. I found the exam a little difficult, mainly because I haven’t worked with the BRE that much and also haven’t used Role Links. Luckily I took the BizTalk 2006 Deep Dive course by QuickLearn, which gave me the basic knowledge on these subjects.

    Just wondering what type of questions were they for the biztalk 2006, the format of the exam and how long it was? Also, do you remember any obvious questions?!

    I would highly appreciate it if you could email me with these answers as I am planning to take the exam in the next few weeks.

    Thank you and looking forward to hear from you

    Were they multiple choices? what type of questions were they? senario based or general? Is it enough to have on-hands experience and going through the Problem Recipes 2006 book?

  4. Sander Schutten Says:

    @Kam,
    Stricly seen all the questions are multiple choice. Most of them are regular multiple choice questions, but some of them require you to select a couple op ‘actions’ and put them in the right order.

    None of the questions are scenario based, but off course every question is introduced as ‘You are a BizTalk expert with Consoto BV and you’re asked to …’. I don’t tend to see that as a scenario :-)

    I don’t know the contents of the Problem Recipes 2006 book, but I think hands-on experience is trivial. If you do have the experience I definitely would read a book on BizTalk for filling in the gaps. Mine was Pro BizTalk 2006, but whatever book will do.

    Good luck when taking the exam.
